I am entering my fourth year at Concordia in the Bachelor of Arts program. I am pursuing Sociology as my major and Religious Studies as my minor. I was born in and raised right here in Edmonton; I am a huge Oilers fan, and have had Eskimos season seats with my dad since I was twelve years old. My dream for the future is to hopefully enter into the Education After Degree program next year, and from that point on, only God knows what life will hold for me!
Last year I interviewed many fun students, staff, and professors such as computing sciences professor Dr. Rossitza Marinova, third year student Justine Gratton, Sociology professor Dr. Dale Schlenker, Philipa Hardy at Career Services, student extraordinaire Cheryl Wong, Management professor Dwayne O'Coin, the Dean of Students Dr. Barbara Van Ignen, third year student Emeka Mollel, Dr. Matthew Unger, Arts Representative Kelsea Gillespie, VP Marketing Madeline Ludlage, CSA president Cody Weger, and of course, Concordia's own superstar, Brett Farquharson. If you would like to revisit any past interviews, they are all archived on The Bolt's website, theboltnews.com
Through those interviews, I have been able to conclude that Concordia is truly a magical place, but I also know that it can be difficult for some people to make friends at first. As a mild-mannered introvert, I know first hand that it can be a challenge to meet people in any new environment. I would personally like to reach out to those who are reading this article. If you need a friend, I am always around to talk about anything: especially if you want to talk about Connor McDavid and the Oilers, the Eskimos last win, comic book characters (especially Superman), or even look through the countless pictures I have of my dog, Bella. You can reach me by my email email@example.com or via twitter @PeterF_94.
This year is going to be a great one; all of the wonderful people at the Concordia Students Association have done a great job planning events that will make your Concordia experience the best years of your life. I hope that through the interviews that I have lined up for this year, you can learn more about the hard work that goes into making your experience as magical as it can be.
Again I would like to welcome everyone to Concordia, I hope you all will have a great time learning, growing as a person, and of course having fun in the process!
