I am a third year student here at Concordia, and I’m in the Bachelor of Arts program taking sociology as my major and religion as my minor. I was born in and raised in Edmonton; I am a huge Oilers fan, and have had Eskimos season seats with my dad since I was twelve years old. My dream for the future is to hopefully get a graduate degree after I receive my bachelor’s. From that point on, only God knows what life will hold for me!
I have often been described as a quiet, mild mannered individual. Because of this, my first day on campus was extremely nerve racking, especially considering I did not know very many folks from my time at high school. Fortunately for me, it was during orientation that I had my eyes opened by some very special people who I had just met that day who made me feel very comfortable. To this day I consider these people as friends, friends who helped make experience at Concordia these past two years better than I could have imagined. Over the next several weeks I began to meet more and more wonderful people, allowing me to quickly establish myself in a comfort zone. Since day one, Concordia and all those inside its walls have been blessings to me, I hope that all students who are walking through the iconic doors at Concordia for the first time will be welcomed in the same way I was.
The past two years I have spent at Concordia have led me to realise that there is something very magical about this University, and as someone who enjoys writing, it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to try and capture some of this magic in word form. The plan for my columns here at the “Bolt” is to tell the stories of the people in this school who make it such a wonderful place to be. I want to interview some very special individuals on campus, and give them a chance to have their story shared with the general public. I want to find extraordinary people who make the world around us a better place to live.

Again, I would like to extend my welcome to all, in what I believe will be an extraordinary year. I hope you all will have a great time learning, growing as a person, and of course having fun in the process!
