And while I and the team are stupendously happy with the results and reception of the throwback issue, we’re very happy to return to our regular format; things just tend to fit better when we have more than four pages to play with. To close off our throwback I’m also happy to announce that I’m working on putting a backlog of some issues we had on disk on to our website www.theboltnews.com, so go check them out (I’ll be posting to Twitter and Facebook as I put them online).
Looking forward into the month of February there is a lot of stuff going on here at Concordia. I know I talk about getting involved a lot here on campus, but there is so much going on I just can’t stay quiet. Coming up first is another virtual treasure hunt courtesy of the CSA with prizes and fun to be had. That starts up on the 4th and ends on the 6th with a variety of ways to win; the CSA’s also increased the boundaries this time around so more fun is to be had as well. Then there is Reading Week and with that comes the Ski Trip to Kimberly. Sounds like a great time with some great people for skiers and non-skiers alike (prices also vary depending on which option you choose). Come by the CSA offices for more details or check out the CSA’s Facebook for more details [/Concordia-Students-Association-CSA]. Last, at least at the time of this writing, is The Amazing Race Concordia hosted by the Psychology Students’ Council from the 24th to the 28th. Sign up for this fun adventure around our lovely campus before Valentine’s Day by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Speaking of Valentine’s, you know how you should spend it? By not spending a bunch of money on “proving” your undying love to that special someone and actually spending it with that special person doing something you love to do. Cook a nice dinner, make a desert and settle down with a marathon of Chuck on Netflix (it’s a really good show), or just spend it like every other day… because that’s what it is. I sound like someone who has been burned by Valentine’s, but I’m not. I’ve actually had a lot of great Valentine’s Days/Weekends, this upcoming one to be included in that list, I’ve just never seen the point in breaking the bank to have a nice day with the person you love.
So get out there lovebirds, Concordians, and everyone in between, have a great month here at Concordia and don’t forget to read our lovely publication.
