A bit about me … I am currently a fourth year student majoring in English and Drama. Besides working for The Bolt, I also sell auto parts at Bumper to Bumper on the south side. I love to sing, paint, perform improv, and all aspects of theatre and set design. My goal this year is to restock my aquarium and own another catfish… and I guess graduate and grow up and stuff. After university you have to be a real adult right? Bleh.
This summer I directed a short play called “Pacific Time”, helped design and decorate the set of an indie TV pilot episode, and saw two of my close friends get married. I also played dodgeball and soccer through Edmonton Sport and Social Club. We only won one game, but I made plenty of great friends. My summer read was “Treasure Island”; it felt great to re-read an old childhood favorite. My mini vacation was camping at Whistle Stop Golf Course right outside of Camrose and going to BVJ. I snuck into the VIP section at 10 am on the first day of the concerts. Hunter Hayes was doing his sound check and we got to have front row seats! We were so close that we could hear him talking and joking with his band.
Welcome back to our current students and hello to all of the new ones! I hope many of you will submit your poems and any requests for the food section. Happy reading!
