This year I plan to write many reviews and keep you in the loop about events in the Edmonton Arts community. You will see reviews on concerts, movies, plays, and much more! If there is an event that you think I should check out or advertise to the student body, let me know!
A bit about me: I am a third year student majoring in both Drama and English. This is my second year writing for The Bolt and I am extremely happy about it. Currently, I am the treasurer for the Green Thespian Collective (aka Concordia's Drama club). Over the summer, I played two incredible roles in Graffiti Mix Arts Collective's first ever One Acts festival and started learning musical improv with Grindstone Theater. I also read the first two books of A Song of Ice and Fire (more commonly known as Game of Thrones). Needless to say, I am now addicted and am going through withdrawal as I begin to read the required texts for my classes. Summer also rekindled my guilty pleasure, the TV show, Big Brother. I am around school often and I love to chat with everyone. So feel free to come talk to me about upcoming events, movies I should watch, stories you are writing, or basically anything.
Last year, I created the Poetry Corner of The Bolt and I would like to keep it going. Anyone can submit their poems; I will choose my favorite and interview the poet. That person's poem and my article about it will be featured in the paper. At the end of the year, I will randomly select one person from everyone who submits poetry and treat them to a $50 gift card to the restaurant of their choice. So let's keep this awesome section going, please send all submissions to email@example.com.
Anyone can write for The Bolt, so feel free to write and submit articles about the entertaining things in your world!
