Gone are the days of the Storyland Valley Zoo is a thing of the past, the nursery rhyme building have been disappearing slowly over the years, but now the whole zoo seems to have been purged. In its place are some amazing, if not yet complete, exhibits. Now as you enter the inner zoo you will be entering Nature’s Wild Backyard, this part of the zoo's changes are in the middle of construction but it's already a huge improvement over what was there before.
The last of the changes come to the entrance of the zoo. Gone is the castle and drawbridge, which admittedly makes me a little sad. In its place though is an entrance that befits the new look and feel of the zoo. A café, gift shop, ticket booth, and a giant educational centre. The otter exhibit mentioned above is actually attached to the educational centre.
So if you're looking for something to do this summer go check out the zoo and all the changes that have been made and are coming. The zoo was a great place to visit as a good and it's great to see that the city, province, and donators all feel that it's still an important place for this city. The only thing I still cannot wrap my head around is why there aren't more people writing and talking about this amazing change to our beloved zoo.
