Back to School

Returning to school can be a daunting experience, but it can also be one of the most rewarding decisions you'll ever make. Whether you're coming back after a long break or you're transitioning from high school to college, the prospect of being back in the classroom can be both exciting and overwhelming. When I first transitioned from high school to university, I felt both excited and nervous. The academic workload can be daunting, and the idea that the university decides your future can be stressful. But it's important to remember that this journey will be fun. I have met so many new people and friends. At Concordia University, I explored so many new subjects and have developed valuable skills that will help me in my future. The journey that is university is scary, but embrace and face the challenges head-on.

One of the biggest challenges I faced when coming back to school was getting back into the routine of studying. After taking a break from school, it is annoying to get back into the habit of studying, completing assignments, and preparing for exams. But I remember that it’s important to keep these habits because they are essential to academic success.

One of the benefits of returning to school is the opportunity to learn new skills and advance your career. In the future, I would like to go into the field of dentistry and possibly become a dental hygienist or a dental assistant. I can take courses that upgrade my skills in the profession I want to go into, and I can increase my knowledge and experience. Additionally, many schools offer career services and networking opportunities that can help you connect with potential employers and find job opportunities. I have used career services to help me out in planning a career for me in the future.

Another benefit of returning to school is the opportunity to meet new people and expand your social circle. Whether you are attending university as a part-time student or you have a three or four-year program, there are many opportunities to get involved on campus and meet people who share your interests. At Concordia University there are many clubs and social events to attend, where you can make connections and build relationships with your peers. I personally like the CUE Environmental Science Club and the CUE Gaming Club.

In conclusion, returning to school can be a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience. Whether you're coming back after a long break or transitioning from high school to college, there will be challenges to overcome. But with the right mindset and preparation, you can make the most of your time in school and achieve your academic and career goals. Remember to stay focused, stay motivated, and stay connected with your peers and professors, and you'll be well on your way to success.
